My 3 year old Sweetie waiting to get the party started!
This past weekend we celebrated the my little girl's 3rd birthday! (I can't even believe she is that old!) I put quite a few hours into planning the special event and wanted to share with you a glimpse into the party. We tried not to go overboard with spending on the supplies or food and we didn't buy her any gifts. Instead, the party was her gift and we tried to make it special for her, as well as, the guests. Overall I can say the party was a success, my little gal is so spoiled rotten, and a big thank you to the many family and friends who attended. We may have gone a little overboard on guests (about 30 people) but I love throwing big get togethers because I want my children to grow up with a love for family and in knowing that they have a wonderful support system of family and friends who care about them. Here are a few glimpses into this special day...

The adults had meatball subs, cold cut wraps (that's where the ham comes in), green eggs (deviled eggs), chips, sodas, veggies and fruit for the main course. (I took a trip to our local surplus grocery store to purchase most of these items and my bill was less than $30.) I also made a pot of crock pot mac and cheese that was a hit with the kiddos (some adults too). I had goldfish crackers on hand for snacking and I also put out a Dr. Seuss birthday book for guests to sign for Hannah, as a keepsake.
A family friend made this Cat in the Hat cake and it was absolutely gorgeous and delicious. She is amazing. (Thanks Pat!)
The kiddos only played one game - fishing for goldfish. (Prizes from the $0.30 bins at the local party store.)
And we sent each kiddo home with a "favor" bag that consisted of a crayon roll up mat and a Dr Seuss coloring book. Plus, some goldfish graham crackers too.
I wish I would have taken a better picture of the birthday banner I created for her (I always do this for my kiddos on their special days) but somehow I missed taking a great photo of it this year. Here's a glimpse at a little guest and his daddy relaxing and waiting for cake. You can catch a small peek at the banner in the background.
